Hammerman PLLC

The common principles underlying all services of our practice are an attention to detail, conscientious, responsive personal service and a sensitivity to the practical needs of clients who produce media content in an ever-changing legal environment.

Our practice covers major sectors of business transactions and the media industry, focusing on intellectual property (copyright and trademark), multimedia, television, broadcasting, internet and entertainment. Additionally, we have developed a niche representing copyright holders internationally and television program suppliers worldwide with respect to filing claims and negotiating copyright royalty settlements for the re-transmission of clients’ television programming.

We frequently counsel artists, composers, and businesses with respect to organizational, employment, litigation and transactional matters.

In all matters, we assist clients with the full array of necessary services, including the negotiation of contracts (employment, settlement, leases, licensing, distribution, purchase and sale), and the preparation and prosecution of applications and registrations before the FCC, the Copyright Office, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, performing rights organizations, international copyright collectives, and state regulatory agencies. We also provide advice concerning compliance with applicable international, federal and state administrative rules and policies, and provide counseling with respect to clearances needed from the Copyright Office, FCC, U.S. Customs, the Patent & Trademark Office, or the Department of Justice as well as rightsholders. When necessary, we are assisted by other attorneys or accountants with expertise in tax, securities, and related disciplines.
